A filler dissolution program that first uses precision ultrasound to assess the location, depth and distribution of suspected filler before planning treatment

DR. Nok-Ijihyung™Before the visible contours,
we assess the underlying structures

We look beneath the surface, assess what is there and treat only what is needed.
Precision ultrasound helps us locate suspected filler, assess its depth and distribution, and discuss the right approach for your face.

  1. Locating filler

We check where in the area of concern the suspected filler is located.

  2. Assessing depth

We look at which layer of the skin it sits in to decide the scope of treatment.

  3. Tailored planning

We identify the volume to preserve and treat only the necessary area to maintain facial balance.

About the DR. Nok-Ijihyung™ ProgramBefore dissolving filler,
we think it through once more.

Unnatural volume, uneven surfaces, asymmetry and recurring discomfort after filler treatment. But from outward appearance alone, it is hard to tell whether a visible change is caused by filler, swelling, lumps or changes in surrounding tissue.

DR. Nok-Ijihyung™ uses precision ultrasound to check the location, depth and distribution of suspected filler and the condition of surrounding soft tissue. We do not decide on a treatment direction from ultrasound results alone, but review your treatment history, current symptoms and the physician's examination findings together.

PROBLEM

If filler looks unnatural,
is dissolving all of it the answer?

Even when things look similar on the surface, the causes can differ.

  • CASE 01

    Remaining filler

Volume or firmness remains even after a long time has passed

  • CASE 02

    Unevenness · Asymmetry

It may look like clumping or migration, but changes in surrounding tissue may also be involved.

  • CASE 03

    Uncertain treatment history

You don't know which filler was used, where, or how much

  • CASE 04

    Unclear treatment direction

You need to decide whether to dissolve all, dissolve some, or wait

Dr. Jihyung Lee looks beyond appearance
when planning treatment.

Treatment decisions are not based on appearance alone.
We take care to identify even small amounts of residual filler, preserve the volume your face needs and consider how your face will look after dissolution.

This commitment is where DR. Nok-Ijihyung™ began.

LAUREN’S SOLUTIONThe DR. Nok-Ijihyung™ Treatment Process

  1. Reviewing treatment history at the consultation desk
    01

Advance booking and treatment history review

We first review the treatment history available, including your areas of concern and symptoms, and the sites, timing, products and number of past filler treatments. Even if you don't know the exact product name or treatment details, you can consult based on what you currently know.

  2. A physician consulting on facial condition with a mirror
    02

    Physician consultation and facial assessment

We confirm the discomfort you feel and the direction you want, then examine facial volume, asymmetry, surface condition and overall balance from the front and side. We also assess whether the area that bothers you is the same as the area that actually needs checking.

  3. Skin ultrasound image
    03

    Precision ultrasound assessment

Within the necessary scope, we assess the location, depth and distribution of suspected filler and the condition of surrounding tissue. Rather than scanning every area at once, the ultrasound assessment focuses on the areas the physician judges necessary.

  4. Explaining the treatment direction with ultrasound and facial images
    04

    Discussing treatment options

We combine your treatment history, current symptoms, examination findings and ultrasound results to guide the treatment direction. Depending on your condition, the following options may be considered.

  5. Performing a dissolving treatment
    05

    Personalized filler dissolution, if needed

If the material is assessed as hyaluronic acid filler and dissolution is considered appropriate, we tailor treatment to your condition. We consider both the area requiring treatment and the volume to preserve, rather than aiming to dissolve all filler in one session.

    • Complete dissolution
    • Partial dissolution
    • Staged dissolution
    • Further assessment or treatment
    • A period of observation
    • Other treatment options
    • Post-dissolution planning

    06

    Follow-up

We check swelling and volume changes that may occur after treatment and assess whether further treatment is needed. If needed, further dissolving or the next stage of treatment is discussed after a period of recovery.

    Planning after dissolution

After filler dissolution, previously concealed hollows, wrinkles or asymmetry may become apparent again. Once we have monitored your progress over an appropriate period, we plan the next steps for your face.

    • Further filler dissolution
    • Natural volume correction
    • Skin elasticity care
    • Skin texture and fine line care
    • Skin boosters
    • Readjusting facial proportions and volume

WHY ULTRASOUNDWhat the eye can't see,
we check with precision ultrasound.

Ultrasound can help assess the location and distribution of suspected filler, the skin layers in the relevant area and the surrounding soft tissue.
It provides additional information to support clinical judgment; it does not replace it.

  • Location

We check where in the area of concern the suspected filler is located.

  • Depth

It can help assess which layer of the skin it sits in.

  • Distribution

We look at how suspected filler is distributed, such as whether it is gathered in one spot or spread out.

  • Surrounding tissue

We also check the condition of the surrounding soft tissue, including the skin and subcutaneous tissue in the area of concern.

FAQFrequently Asked Questions

  • Can filler I had a long time ago be dissolved?

  • Can I get a consultation even if I don't remember which filler I had?

Yes. Even if you don't remember the exact product name or treatment site, you can consult based on your current symptoms and whatever treatment history can be confirmed. Ultrasound assessment can help check the location, depth and distribution of suspected filler and the condition of surrounding tissue. However, ultrasound images alone cannot always identify the exact filler product or ingredient.
The physician considers not only ultrasound results but also your symptoms, treatment history and examination findings.

  • Does hyaluronidase work on all fillers?

  • Can all filler be dissolved at once?

  • Can I have treatment again right after dissolving filler?
